Logan the scout

Last Tuesday was Logan's first court of honor since he's been an 11-yr. old scout. He's been on 3 campouts, and many other meetings, activities and service projects. He and his friend Drew were the youngest ones to get the awards they got. As always, we're proud of Logan and his accomplishments.

Principal's Pride

Lauren is loving kindergarten, and kindergarten is loving Lauren! At school they give out a Principal's Pride award to kids who do something good and Lauren got the first one of the year from her class! Her teacher said she is a "Great student. She remembers class rules and is kind to others." Yeah for Lauren!

The aisle seat

I've always been fond of the aisle seat. I like it on airplanes, in movie theaters, church, etc. I don't HAVE to have it, but I like it. My fondness might be attributed to the ease of entry and exit, or possibly the freedom of not sitting next to someone on one side, or maybe I inherited it. Whatever the reason, I am often found there. I don't fight for it, in fact I've given it to Logan at church because that's where he wants to sit. But last night, at the movie, I got the aisle seat. I was pleased until . . . there was a child touching my arm and saying "Mama". Then he came back and this time when he touched me it was with a wet finger. Then, there were 3 kids in the aisle, crawling, playing, running, etc. I've always thought movie theater floors were pretty nasty, can you imagine letting your chid (one was less than a year old) crawl around on the floor of a movie theater? YUCK! One of them was playing with a cup, which ended up flying through the air and landing where? That's right, on me, the aisle sitter. So, maybe I'm ready to give up the aisle seat.

By the way, we saw "Kung Fu Panda" and liked it! Even Easton laughed out loud, but I think it was because everyone else was laughing, not from the humor found in the movie. 5 thumbs up!

A day for cutting hair

I've been thinking about cutting my hair for months now. I wanted a change, but I was afraid of change. Lauren has been wanting a haircut also, so it doesn't hurt so much getting combed after a bath. Logan usually resists haircuts, but put on a great show tonight, laughing and smiling, trying to convince Easton that it wasn't so bad. Easton was not convinced. Lauren wins the award for most anticipation, Rozanne for most apprehension, Logan for most faking of enjoyment, and Easton for most crying. Here are some before, during and after shots.

On the 25th of August, Logan got to start school . . . 6th Grade! Here is how he looked:

Kindergarten, however, didn't start on the same day. Here is how Lauren looked:

Today, 9 days later, this is how Lauren looks:
