Visits

We really enjoy company.  My kids go crazy hyper, and I just like hanging out with fun people.  We don't have a lovely guest room, and we don't have a guest bathroom, but we really appreciate the people who come and visit, even if the accommodations aren't stellar.  Our most recent guests were Richard, Kim, Sarah & Luke, then Craig.  My kids LOVED having Sarah around, and they still quote her at the dinner table . . . "oh, toot!"  I LOVED having Luke cuddle with me, and we all enjoyed visiting with Richard & Kim.  Then Craig came to stay before he got on an airplane and left us.  We've really had fun with Craig while he's been at BYU.  (Don't tell Emily, but Logan called Emily's room 'Craig's room' the other day.)  So, if you don't mind the lack of a lovely guest suite, we would love to have more visitors!

I went to the zoo, and I found you!

That's the title for the children's picture book I'm going to write.  Does anybody want to be the illustrator?  We're going to make millions. :)

Church History Museum

A few months back we decided to check out the Church History Museum downtown.  I had heard that they had some cool stuff for kids, so we went.  They did!  They also had cool stuff for adults, but David and I didn't get as much time as we wanted to look at some of the displays.  Maybe one day we'll go back without the kids, although Lauren has begged to go again.  Good times.

Bowling

Every 5 weeks for family night we don't have a lesson, song, etc. We go somewhere and do something fun. Last week we went bowling. Logan had been a couple times before, and Lauren had been once before. It was Easton's first time. Although it was not my first time, I think I bowled one of the worst games ever. But, the goal was to have fun, and that we did (until the end when Logan whined, even though he WON!).

Logan's nickname was 'Joe' and Lauren was 'Ash'

Blogging

I like blogging. I do. I like looking at other people's blogs. I just hate it when I want to blog, but I'm not sure what to blog about. I feel like we have to have a big event, or cool new pictures in order to blog. But, if my blog is my journal, I should blog other things, too. So, instead of showing a picture of Logan, and mentioning that he has straight A's, once again, I will wax poetic.

Logan is smart, Logan is good,
He almost always does what he should.
He spent his day off with his little brother,
They played cars, Little People and Pokemon with each other.
When they were alone and Easton was scared,
Logan calmed him down and showed that he cared.
(David and I went to the gym to work out
there was some big thunder . . . it freaked Easton out.)
Just when I think Logan's the perfect sort,
He whines or pouts on the basketball court.
I expect him to handle things better than he does,
All I can hope for is improvement over what was.
So, for today the update is about my first born,
He really is wonderful and likes to eat corn.

David is old

We had a birthday in our house! It was a big one. I usually make (or have my sister make) fun cakes for the kids for their birthdays, but this year I decided that David needed a fun cake. I also had some friends send him some e-mails. I tried for 40, but got 39. It was still fun and he really liked it. Anyway, here is the cake! The hardest part was the crumbly red cake and the white frosting. It turned a little pink and polka dotted, but it still tasted delicious!

Happy Birthday Derek!

I know the quality of this picture isn't the best, and I think Logan took it and that's why the top of your heads are cut off (Jessica's head was cut off completely, so I cropped her out of the picture).  But, I love this picture because I can almost hear you laughing just looking at it.  Happy Birthday.
